Jay's Air Conditioning started in the Macarthur region in 1991 and it is still where most of our work is. Campbelltown, Camden, Narellan, Ingleburn and Minto are on our run every week, and the estates out past Oran Park and down through Wollondilly are not far behind. When you ring us from Macarthur you are ringing locals.

Since 1991

Macarthur housing is a mix. Older brick homes in Campbelltown, Ingleburn and Camden with ducted systems due for replacement. New estates in Gregory Hills, Oran Park and Spring Farm that were built without air conditioning. Acreage out at Menangle, Picton and Tahmoor that needs a big zoned system done properly. We do all three every week.

After air conditioning in Macarthur? Jay's Air Conditioning has been installing, repairing and servicing it out here since 1991. For a typical 3 to 4 bedroom Macarthur home, a 12.5kW to 14kW ducted system runs from around $8,000 to $12,000 installed. Split systems start from around $1,800 for a 2.5kW room unit. Summers out here hit the high 30s and low 40s, so getting the right size matters more than it does closer to the coast.

The suburbs we cover

Campbelltown side: Campbelltown, Minto, Ingleburn, Leumeah, Macquarie Fields, Glenfield, Raby, Bradbury, Glen Alpine, plus Airds, Ambarvale, Rosemeadow, St Andrews, Eagle Vale, Kearns, Eschol Park, Claymore, Woodbine, Ruse, Blair Athol, Bow Bowing and St Helens Park.

Camden side: Camden, Narellan, Mount Annan, Gregory Hills, Harrington Park, Gledswood Hills, Camden South, Camden Park, plus Oran Park, Currans Hill, Spring Farm, Elderslie, Smeaton Grange, Cobbitty and Catherine Field.

Wollondilly and the south: Menangle, Picton, Tahmoor and the Wollondilly Shire, plus Appin, Wilton, Thirlmere, Douglas Park and Bargo.

Liverpool side: Edmondson Park, Leppington, Austral and Denham Court. If your suburb is not on this list and it is anywhere near the M5 or the Hume, give us a bell. It is almost certainly on our run.

What Macarthur jobs usually look like

The older streets in Campbelltown, Ingleburn and Camden are full of 1970s and 1980s brick veneer homes where the original ducted unit has finally given up. Those are straight replacements with a modern Panasonic or Daikin inverter, usually 12.5kW to 14kW with 5 or 6 zones, and the roof space is generous enough that the job is done in a day.

The newer estates from Gregory Hills through Oran Park to Spring Farm are a different job. A lot of those homes went in with no air conditioning at all, or with a single split in the living room. Ducted for the whole house is the common request, and the two-storey builds need zoning done properly so the upstairs bedrooms actually get cold at night.

Out on the acreage around Menangle, Picton and Tahmoor the homes are big and the summers are brutal, so we are usually talking 16kW to 20kW ducted with 8 to 10 zones, or a ducted system plus a couple of splits for the sheds and studios.

Servicing and repairs across Macarthur

A filter clean is $150+GST, a Standard service is $250+GST for the first unit and $110+GST for each extra unit, and a Platinum service with live readings and a written report is $350+GST. Repairs are quoted after we have diagnosed the fault, so you know the number before we touch anything. Repairs carry 12 months on parts and our lifetime workmanship guarantee. If your unit is old enough that a repair does not stack up, we will tell you straight and quote a replacement instead. Check our pricing page for the full tables or the sizing calculator to get a rough idea before you call.

Thinking about a new system? Our split system installs and ducted installs pages cover sizes, brands and what is included, and the reviews page has what customers say about us.

Ducted and Split System Installs in Macarthur

We install Panasonic, Daikin and Actron, and we right-size every job rather than quoting the biggest unit we can. Most Macarthur family homes land on 12.5kW to 14kW with 5 to 6 zones. Two-storey builds in the new estates often go 14kW to 16kW with 7 zones from the start. Acreage homes go bigger again. Mick Daly has led our ducted installs since 2009 and runs a permanent crew, so the people who quote the job are the people who turn up to do it.

Split systems are the quick wins out here. A 2.5kW to 5kW high-wall split for a bedroom or a townhouse living area is a morning's work, and Noah Hall handles most of those across the region. If you want ducted for one suburb specifically, we have dedicated pages for ducted in Campbelltown, ducted in Camden, ducted in Mount Annan and ducted in Glen Alpine.

Why Macarthur Calls Jay's Air Conditioning

We have been doing air conditioning in the Macarthur region since 1991. That is over 30 years of knowing which estates are coming up, which older homes have systems past their use-by date, and what size unit actually copes with a January heatwave out here. Our Google rating is 4.8 stars from 290+ reviews.

Mick Daly leads our ducted installations. He has been with Jay's Air Conditioning since 2009 and runs a permanent crew, not subbies. Noah Hall handles split installs and the smaller jobs across the region. Ben, the owner, does the quotes and the diagnostics, and he lives in Menangle, so the southern end of Macarthur is his own backyard.

We quote fixed prices before we start. What you are quoted is what you pay. Installs come with our lifetime workmanship warranty, and repairs get 12 months on parts plus the same workmanship guarantee.

14kW Panasonic Ducted Replacement - Ingleburn

Problem

1980s brick veneer home in Ingleburn with the original ducted unit on its last legs. Two zones barely blowing and the compressor cycling on and off on hot days.

Diagnosis

Removed the old system and installed a Panasonic 14kW inverter ducted unit with 6 zones and a new zone controller. Reused the existing return air position, replaced the flexible duct in the roof. Done in a day.

5kW Daikin Split - Gregory Hills Townhouse

Problem

New estate townhouse in Gregory Hills built with no air conditioning. The upstairs main bedroom was unbearable by 9pm in summer.

Diagnosis

Installed a Daikin 5kW reverse cycle split with concealed wall cabling and the outdoor unit on brackets at the side. Cool in summer, warm in winter, finished before lunch.

Actron Ducted Repair - Zone Motor and Sensor Fault - Camden

Problem

Ten year old Actron ducted system in Camden with one zone stuck shut and the unit throwing an error code every evening.

Diagnosis

Diagnosed a failed zone motor and a faulty return air sensor. Replaced both, recalibrated the zones and had the system running properly the same visit. Repair, not replacement, was the right call on a unit that age.

Air Conditioning Advice for Macarthur Homeowners

A new build in Oran Park and a 1975 brick home in Campbelltown need different systems, but the same rules apply out here: size it for a Macarthur summer, not a coastal one, and service it before December. These guides will get you started.
