Common Daikin Faults We Fix
Here's what actually goes wrong with Daikin systems, and what it costs to put right:
- PC boards. The brain of the unit. Random shutdowns, dead controllers and comms errors usually track back here. Boards run $400 to $700 fitted, and we'll tell you straight if a repair beats a replacement.
- Fan motors. Indoor or outdoor. Grinding, squealing or a fan that won't spin. $300 to $500 fitted.
- Sensors and thermistors. Cheap parts that cause expensive-looking problems, like constant defrost or short cycling. Usually $250 to $350 sorted.
- Capacitors. Fan spins but no cold air. One of the most common fixes, around $150 to $180 fitted.
- Refrigerant leaks. We pressure test, fix the leak, then regas. R32 is $185 a kilo, R410a $225. A straight top-up runs $200 to $350.
- Blocked drains. A leaking Daikin is nearly always a choked condensate drain. $120 to $150, usually on the spot.

- Wash the filters. Pop the front panel, rinse them under the tap, let them dry
- Restart it at the isolator by the outdoor unit. Off, wait five minutes, back on
