Plenty of ducted replacements and repairs here - the brick homes are solid but the systems inside them are getting on.

We're not a company that treks down from the other side of Sydney. Ben, the owner, lives in Menangle, just around the corner. Camden South jobs are minutes from home for us, so repairs get seen fast and quotes don't take a week to book. We've been working these streets for years, and there's a fair chance we've already done a job in yours.

30+ Years

Camden South is mostly solid brick veneer family homes from the 70s through the 90s on decent blocks, with newer infill scattered through. A lot of them got ducted air con in the 2000s, and those systems are now past their best. That's why replacements and repairs make up most of our work here.

About Us

Air Conditioning in Camden South

After air conditioning in Camden South? Jay's Air has been doing it since 1991, and we're just around the corner - Ben, the owner, lives in Menangle, a few minutes up the road. For a typical 4-bedroom brick home here, a new 12.5kW ducted system runs $8,000 to $11,000. A 2.5kW split for one room is $1,800 to $2,100. 4.8 stars from 280+ reviews.

Got an older system limping along? Here's the honest maths. If the repair quote is creeping past $600 on a unit over 15 years old, put that money toward a new system instead. Old R22 units especially - the gas alone is $265 a kg and parts are getting scarce. We'll tell you straight which side of the line yours is on before you spend a cent.

Replacing the original ducted systems in Camden South brick homes

A lot of homes here got ducted air con fitted in the 2000s, and those systems are now 15 to 25 years old. The good news is the hard work is already done - the duct runs exist. A replacement is usually quicker and cheaper than a first install, and a modern inverter system pulls a lot less power than whatever's up in your roof now. Most 4-bedders land on 12.5kW, the bigger places 14kW.

Don't guess the size. An undersized system runs flat out on hot days and an oversized one short-cycles and chews power. Run your place through our sizing calculator or look over the pricing guide so you know the numbers before anyone quotes you.

Camden South sits right on our doorstep. We cover you along with Camden, Menangle, Narellan and Campbelltown.

Ducted replacement in a 90s brick home

Problem

Daikin ducted system from 2005 in a 4-bedroom brick veneer, R22 gas, compressor on its last legs and power bills climbing every summer. The owners had already spent a few hundred on patch-up repairs and were done with it.

Diagnosis

Mick swapped it for a 14kW Actron inverter with 4 zones, reusing the sound existing duct runs which kept the price down. Out with the old and running cold in a day and a half. $10,400 fixed quote, lifetime workmanship warranty.

Split system for a garage conversion

Problem

Converted garage being used as a teenager retreat, no cooling, and it baked all summer with the brick soaking up the western sun.

Diagnosis

Noah fitted a 5kW Panasonic split, sized up a touch for the brick heat load, with the outdoor unit tucked down the side of the house. Done in a morning. $2,700.

Mitsubishi split leaking water inside

Problem

Mitsubishi split in a main bedroom dripping water down the wall. The owners had it switched off for a week thinking it was a gas leak.

Diagnosis

Ben came from Menangle, five minutes up the road. Blocked condensate drain, full of gunk. Cleared the line, cleaned the tray, tested the flow. $140 and running again the same morning.

Air Conditioning Advice for Camden South Homeowners

The two questions worth asking before any quote: how old is my current system, and are the duct runs still sound? If the ducting is good, a replacement install gets cheaper and faster. If it is original 2000s flex duct that has been cooked in the roof for 20 years, factor in replacing it at the same time rather than bolting a new unit to tired ducts.

And do not run an old R22 unit into the ground. Once it leaks, the regas alone can cost more than a service plus a repair on a modern system. Get ahead of it while it is still your choice.
