Covering Menangle and the Macarthur region.
Ducted for the acreage and newer family homes, splits for the village cottages, and repairs done fast because we are already in town.

Jay's Air isn't a Sydney company that drives down to Menangle now and then. Ben, the owner, lives right here and runs the business out of the village. That means no waiting days for a tech to make the trip. If your system dies on a 40 degree afternoon, there's a fair chance we're five minutes up the road. We've worked on homes from the cottages near the village centre to the acreage out along the river flats.

30+ Years

Menangle is one of the oldest villages in NSW and the housing shows it. Weatherboard and brick cottages from the 1800s and early 1900s around the centre, farmhouses on acreage, and newer brick family homes at the edges and over at Menangle Park. Big rooflines on the old places, big open plans on the new ones, and summers that push past 40 either way.

About Us

Air Conditioning in Menangle

After air conditioning in Menangle? You've already found the local. Jay's Air has been doing air con across Sydney since 1991, and Ben, the owner, lives right here in the village and runs the business out of Menangle. For a typical 4-bedroom home here you're looking at $8,000 to $11,000 for a 12.5kW ducted system. A 2.5kW split for a bedroom runs $1,800 to $2,100. 4.8 stars from 280+ reviews.

How fast can we get to you? That's the bit nobody else can match. We're not driving down from the other side of Sydney. Same day is normal for Menangle, and on a stinker when your system carks it, we've been on site within the hour.

Old cottages and acreage homes are two different jobs

The village cottages first. A lot of Menangle homes are weatherboard or brick from the 1800s and early 1900s, with high ceilings and not much in the way of wall cavities. Ducting through original ceilings is butchery, and you don't need it. A split in the main rooms or a multi-head across the house cools them properly without touching the old bones. We mount them carefully on heritage-style cladding and tuck the pipe runs out of sight.

The acreage places and the newer brick homes are the opposite. Big open plans, long roof runs, west-facing living areas that cook all afternoon. That's ducted territory. A 4-bed home generally wants 12.5kW, the bigger farmhouses 14 to 16kW with zoning so you're not cooling rooms nobody's in. Expect $9,000 to $12,500 at the big end. Run your numbers through our sizing calculator or check the pricing guide before anyone quotes you.

Menangle is our home run, so you're at the front of the map. We cover the whole Macarthur area from here, including Camden, Narellan and Campbelltown. Over the river at Menangle Park or up the road at Gilead, same deal. We're close.

Ducted Air Conditioning in Menangle

Most of the ducted air conditioning Menangle asks us for goes into the bigger homes - the acreage blocks and the newer 4-bedders. Mick runs our installs through Camden and the Macarthur area and he's been on the tools with us since 2009. A typical 4-bed home takes a 12.5kW system at $8,000 to $11,000, and the big farmhouses run 14 to 16kW with proper zoning. Fixed quote before we start, a lifetime workmanship warranty on the install, and the bloke quoting it lives in your suburb.

Why Menangle Calls Jay's

Because we're the only air con company that actually lives here. Ben, the owner, is a Menangle local and the business runs out of the village. When you call, you're not getting a call centre and a maybe-Thursday. You're getting a neighbour.

Mick Daly runs the ducted installs through the Macarthur area and has since 2009. Noah Hall handles the splits and smaller jobs. Ben does the quotes and diagnostics himself, and for air conditioning repairs Menangle simply doesn't have anyone closer. Most repair calls here get seen same day.

Pricing is fixed and upfront. We tell you what's wrong and what it costs before we touch anything, and the quote doesn't grow legs halfway through the job. Installs carry our lifetime workmanship warranty, and repair parts a 12 month warranty.

The credentials, since you should always check them: in business since 1991, 4.8 stars from 280+ reviews on Google, NSW licence 273312C, ARCtick AU13058, and $20M public liability. We install Panasonic, Daikin and Actron, and we repair every brand.

We're around Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm, Saturdays by arrangement. Give us a bell on (02) 9820 4500, and if you see a Jay's van at the village shops, that's not a coincidence. We live here.

Ducted install in an acreage farmhouse

Problem

4-bedroom farmhouse off Menangle Road with no cooling at all. Owners were sick of sweating through summer with ceiling fans, and the west-facing living areas cooked every afternoon. Big roof space, long duct runs needed.

Diagnosis

Mick fitted a 16kW Panasonic ducted system with 6 zones over two days. Long runs in a roof with plenty of room to work, and zoning set up so the bedrooms run separate from the living areas. $11,900 all up on a fixed quote, lifetime workmanship warranty.

Split system in a village cottage

Problem

Weatherboard cottage near the village centre, main bedroom unbearable on summer nights. The owners did not want ducting cut into a ceiling that has been there since before Federation.

Diagnosis

Noah fitted a 2.5kW Panasonic split, mounted carefully on the old weatherboard with the pipe run tucked down the back of the house where you cannot see it from the street. In and out in half a day. $1,950.

Ducted system dead on a 38 degree day

Problem

Actron ducted system in one of the newer brick homes, stone dead on one of the hottest days of January. Family with young kids and the house climbing past 30 inside.

Diagnosis

Ben was five minutes away and on site within the hour. Failed capacitor in the outdoor unit. Swapped it, tested the run current, cold air back before lunch. $165. Being local matters on days like that.

FAQs

Air Conditioning Menangle - Common Questions

FAQs

For a typical 4-bedroom Menangle home, $8,000 to $11,000 for a 12.5kW system installed. The bigger acreage places running 14 to 16kW are $9,000 to $12,500. Fixed quote before any work starts.

Faster than anyone, because Ben the owner lives in Menangle and the business runs from here. Same day is normal, and on a bad day we have been on site within the hour. Call (02) 9820 4500.

Splits or a multi-head system. The old weatherboard and brick cottages do not take ducting well, and a 2.5kW split at $1,800 to $2,100 does a bedroom properly without touching the original ceilings. We install them with care on heritage-style cladding.

Jay’s Air. Family run since 1991, our own blokes not subbies, fixed pricing, 4.8 stars from 280+ reviews. Licence 273312C, ARCtick AU13058. And we are the only air con company actually based in Menangle. (02) 9820 4500.

Air Conditioning Advice for Menangle Homeowners

Get the sizing right first. An undersized unit runs flat out and still will not hold the house on a Menangle stinker, and an oversized one short-cycles and chews power. Use the sizing calculator or give us a bell and we will size it off the plans.

Think about zoning if you are going ducted. On the bigger blocks out here the living areas and bedrooms get used at different times, and zoning means you are not paying to cool rooms nobody is in. It is a small add at install time that pays for itself every quarter.
