Ducted replacements in older brick homes, split installs for cottages and units, and repairs on every brand across Oatley.

Oatley is a leafy St George suburb bordering the Georges River and Oatley Park. Most homes here are solid brick from the 1940s to 60s, sitting on sloping blocks that can make ducted installs a bit more involved. We do a steady run of ducted replacements and repairs on the older systems here, plus splits for the smaller cottages and units near the station.

30+ Years

Oatley homes from the 1940s to 60s are typically full-brick three-bedders on 500-700sqm sloping blocks. The leafy setting is great but the slope can mean longer duct runs and trickier outdoor unit placement. Waterfront homes on the river get salt-air exposure on top of the usual wear.
About Us

Air Conditioning in Oatley

After air conditioning in Oatley? Jay's Air has been doing it since 1991. For a typical 3-bedroom brick home here, you're looking at around $2,200-2,800 for a split or $9,000-11,000 for ducted. Air conditioning repairs Oatley homeowners ask about most are on older Carrier and Actron systems - the sloping blocks mean outdoor units take a bit more wear. 4.8 stars from 280+ reviews.

Sloping Blocks and Older Brick - What Oatley Homes Need

Most homes in Oatley went up between 1940 and 1965. Full-brick three-bedders on sloping blocks near Oatley Park and the river. The slope is the main thing that changes an install here - longer flex duct runs uphill, and finding the right spot for the outdoor unit so it doesn't end up bouncing noise into the bedroom. Our crew knows how to handle it and it doesn't cost you extra.

If the ducted system is over three decades old and failing, replacement usually makes more sense than repair. A 10-12kW Panasonic 4-zone ducted for a 3-bedroom Oatley home runs $9,000-11,000 installed. For split system installation Oatley cottages and smaller homes, a 3.5-5kW Daikin is the right size for most living areas, at $2,200-2,800.

Check the sizing calculator if you're not sure what you need. Full costs on the pricing page. We're also in Mortdale, Peakhurst, and Como.

Air Conditioning Repairs in Oatley

The air conditioning repairs Oatley calls we handle most are zone motor failures, fan bearing wear, and refrigerant leaks on older Carrier and Actron ducted systems. The sloping-block location and nearby river also mean more salt and moisture exposure on waterfront homes - corroded contactors and capacitors are common here. If the system is on R22 refrigerant, we'll tell you straight whether it's worth topping up or time to move on. Call Ben on (02) 9820 4500 for a same-day diagnostic.

Air Conditioning Advice for Oatley Homeowners

If you have a 1940s-60s brick home in Oatley, it almost certainly has enough roof cavity for a ducted system - but the slope matters. Longer outdoor unit runs cost a little more in copper pipe and labour. Get us out for a look before you commit and we'll give you a firm price.

For cottages and smaller homes without a workable roof cavity, splits are the better call. A 3.5kW Daikin or Panasonic covers a good-sized living area and can be installed in a day. Call (02) 9820 4500 to book.
