Problem

Harjit Singh and his family had just settled on a new two-storey 5-bedroom home in Rouse Hill. Builder's standard finish - no air conditioning included. They had two young kids and a summer moving in. They wanted ducted running throughout the home before the removalists arrived, including the upstairs bedrooms.

Diagnosis

Mick assessed the home at pre-settlement. Good roof clearance on the single-storey section, standard bulkhead run to upper bedrooms. Installed a 16kW Daikin ducted system with 9 zones and wifi controller: 4 upstairs bedrooms individually zoned, open-plan living, separate lounge, master ensuite area. Two-day install. System commissioned and tested across all zones before handover. Total: $14,200 fully installed.

Split System - Covered Alfresco, Rouse Hill

Problem

Pradeep Kumar had a large covered alfresco off the back of his Rouse Hill home. The main home was fully ducted, but the alfresco - which the family used year-round for entertaining - got too hot in summer. The ducted system didn't extend to it and wasn't designed to. He wanted a separate cooling solution for the outdoor entertaining area.

Diagnosis

Noah installed a 3.5kW Daikin inverter wall-mount split system on the alfresco back wall, with the outdoor unit on the side of the house in a clean position. Separate circuit run from the main board. The system is designed for semi-outdoor use with the right IP rating for the environment. Commissioned and running same day. Total: $1,780 fully installed.

Diagnostic - Zones Not Working Correctly, Rouse Hill

Problem

The Patel family had moved into a Rouse Hill home where the builder's preferred contractor had installed an 8-zone ducted system. Two of the eight zones weren't responding to the controller - the bedrooms in one section of the house wouldn't cool even when selected on the panel. The rest of the system worked fine.

Diagnosis

Ben diagnosed the issue in the roof - one zone motor had been wired incorrectly at the zone board, and a second zone damper was stuck closed due to a jammed actuator. Both faults were fixable without replacing any major components. Zone motor re-wired, stuck damper freed and lubricated, system tested across all 8 zones. All zones responding correctly. Total: $380.
