Covering Ramsgate and the bayside.
Older brick and fibro family homes near the bay, mostly first-time installs and splits. We know Ramsgate.

Ramsgate is a quieter bayside pocket of the St George area, mostly long-held family homes a short walk from Ramsgate Beach and the Grand Parade shops. A lot of these older brick and fibro houses never had refrigerated air put in, so we do plenty of first-time ducted and split installs here. Being near the bay, salt is a factor, though Ramsgate is a touch more sheltered than the beachfront suburbs.

30+ Years

Ramsgate is mainly 1950s and 60s brick homes and older fibro cottages on standard blocks, with a few unit blocks near the shops. The brick homes with a decent roof cavity suit ducted. The fibro cottages, which often have no roof space, are better off with splits. The bay is close enough that coastal-rated gear and regular servicing are worth it.

FAQs

Air Conditioning Ramsgate - Common Questions

FAQs

For a typical older brick home, ducted runs between $8,000 and $11,000 depending on size, zones, and roof access. If the place is a fibro cottage with no roof cavity, splits are the way to go, from $1,800 for a single 2.5kW up to around $3,000 for a 5kW living-area unit. We quote a fixed price up front so you know the number before we start. Call (02) 9820 4500.

Yeah, easy. A lot of the older fibro cottages around Ramsgate have no roof cavity for ducting, so splits are the answer. We fit a split in each room you want cooled, sized to the space, and run the pipework neatly outside. You only cool the rooms you use, which keeps both the install and the running costs down.

It takes a toll. Being close to the bay, the salt air corrodes outdoor units quicker than it does inland, though Ramsgate is a touch more sheltered than right on the beachfront. We recommend coastal-rated gear and a yearly service to wash the salt off and check for corrosion. Looked after, a system here will still give you good years.

Air Conditioning Advice for Ramsgate Homeowners

Putting cooling into an older Ramsgate home for the first time? Get the sizing right and pick gear suited to being near the bay. A system that is too small runs flat out and costs more to run. Already got a system? A yearly service to wash the salt off the outdoor unit and check it over keeps it going for longer. We will measure up, give you a fixed price, and do it properly the first time.
