30+ Years

Mount Druitt has a lot of 1960s-70s housing commission stock - fibro and brick homes on compact blocks. Fibro homes almost never suit ducted because the roof pitch is too low. Brick homes across the suburb can take ducted if the roof cavity is clear. There are also newer townhouses and units near Westfield that suit splits or multi-head installs.
About Us

Air Conditioning in Mount Druitt

After air conditioning in Mount Druitt? Jay's Air has been doing it since 1991. For a typical fibro home here, a pair of splits runs around $3,000-$4,200 installed. Brick homes with a usable roof cavity can take ducted - expect $8,500-$10,500 for a solid 10-12kW system with zones. We handle air conditioning repairs Mount Druitt homeowners call us for every week, from capacitor and fan motor faults to refrigerant leaks. 4.8 stars from 280+ reviews.

How much does ducted air conditioning cost in Mount Druitt? For a 3-4 bedroom brick home with a clear roof cavity, a 10kW Panasonic or Daikin 3-zone system runs $8,500-$10,000 installed. Bigger homes or homes needing new ductwork add to that. We check the roof space before quoting - no point guessing.

Fibro Homes vs Brick in Mount Druitt - Your Cooling Options

This is the most common question we get in Mount Druitt. Fibro and weatherboard homes - and there are plenty out here - almost always have a low-pitch roof that won't take insulated flexible ductwork. Splits are the practical choice. For split system installation Mount Druitt homes most often need a 2.5kW or 5kW unit in the main living area, with a second unit for the bedroom.

Brick homes are a different situation. If the roof cavity is clear and the pitch is workable, ducted is a great option - whole-home cooling, zone control, timer. We've done hundreds of ducted installs in the brick homes across Mount Druitt and the surrounding area.

Mount Druitt is in the Blacktown LGA in Western Sydney. We also cover St Marys, Blacktown and Doonside. Check our sizing calculator or the pricing guide.

Air Conditioning Repairs in Mount Druitt

We handle air conditioning repairs Mount Druitt residents rely on - fan motor failures, capacitor faults, refrigerant leaks, blocked drains, PCB issues and R22 system assessments. Most older Carrier, Actron, Daikin and Mitsubishi systems out here can be repaired cost-effectively if the refrigerant is still R410A. R22 systems are a different story - we'll give you an honest cost-vs-replace assessment before we start any work.

Air Conditioning Advice for Mount Druitt Homeowners

Mount Druitt's older housing stock - fibro, weatherboard and 1960s-70s brick - requires different approaches. Fibro homes almost always go with splits. Brick homes can take ducted if the roof pitch works. The sizing calculator on our site will give you a kW starting point.

If your existing system is over 12 years old and starting to need repairs, get a repair-vs-replace assessment. We'll look at the refrigerant type, system age, and what a repair costs against a new install. Straight numbers, no pressure.
