Covering Granville and the Parramatta region.
We do a lot of repairs and first-time splits in Granville - older homes, older systems, plenty of work.

Granville is one of the older parts of western Sydney. Lots of the homes here are 1940s to 1970s - fibro and brick, smaller blocks, streets built before air con was a thing. We do a steady run of repair calls out here, plus split installs in homes that have never had cooling. Brick homes with a good roof cavity can take ducted.

30+ Years

Mix of older fibro and brick, mostly 1940s to 1970s. Small to medium blocks. Units along Woodville Road and the main streets. Some larger brick homes suited to ducted, but fibro with a flat roof is split territory.

Air Conditioning in Granville

After air conditioning in Granville? Jay's Air has been doing it since 1991. For a typical Granville home, you're looking at around $2,500 to $3,000 for a 5kW split, or $8,500 to $10,500 for ducted in a solid brick home. Fibro homes usually go the split route - low roof pitch rules out ducted in a lot of cases. 4.8 stars from 280+ reviews.

Granville has a real mix of housing. The older streets closer to the station are fibro and brick from the 1940s and 50s - tight blocks, low rooflines, and systems that are often overdue for a look. Further out you get more solid double-brick homes from the 60s and 70s where ducted is a proper option.

What System Suits a Granville Home?

For fibro homes with a low-pitch roof, a split system is usually the answer. A 5kW Panasonic or Daikin handles a standard lounge and bedroom well. Brick homes with a decent roof cavity are worth checking for ducted - for a typical 3-4 bedroom Granville brick home you're looking at a 10 to 12.5kW system. Use our sizing calculator for a ballpark.

Air conditioning repairs Granville calls come in steady year-round. A lot of the systems out here are 15 to 20 years old - Carrier, Actron, old Mitsubishi units that need a capacitor or a flare repair rather than a full replacement. We give you a straight quote on what it costs to fix versus replace.

We cover Granville as part of our regular western Sydney run. Nearby suburbs we also service: Parramatta, Harris Park, and Merrylands. See our pricing guide for full costs.

FAQs

Air Conditioning Granville - Common Questions

FAQs

For a typical Granville split install, you’re looking at $2,500 to $3,000 for a 5kW unit all installed. Two-split solutions run $3,800 to $4,500. Ducted in a solid brick home starts around $8,500 for a 10kW system. Check our pricing guide for a full breakdown.

If the repair cost is under half what a replacement runs, fixing it usually makes sense – especially on a system under 15 years old. On a 20-plus year Carrier or Actron, replacement often stacks up better. We quote the fix and the replacement so you can decide.

Depends on the construction. Solid brick homes with a decent roof cavity are often fine for ducted. Fibro homes with a low-pitch roof usually aren’t – the cavity isn’t there. We check before quoting and tell you what works.

Air Conditioning Advice for Granville Homeowners

Getting the right size system matters. Too small and it runs all day without hitting your target temperature. Too big and it short-cycles and doesn't dehumidify properly. Our sizing guide gives you a ballpark by room size and ceiling height.

For a 3-bedroom Granville brick home, a 10 to 12kW ducted system is typical. For a fibro cottage lounge, a 5kW split usually does it. Not sure? Just call us and we'll talk you through it before anything gets booked.

Jay’s Air also provides air conditioning installation and repairs in nearby Parramatta.
