Covering Glenhaven and the Hills District.
Big family homes on big blocks - ducted country through and through, and Mick's home patch.

Glenhaven is the quiet end of the Hills and the homes are some of the biggest we work on - established two-storeys and acreage-style places on serious blocks, built properly and kept that way. Ducted is the default here, the systems are large, and the owners expect work that matches the house. Mick has run Hills installs for us since 2009, so this is genuinely home turf.

30+ Years

The stock is 80s to 2000s executive homes and semi-rural acreage places, mostly 4 and 5 bedrooms with high ceilings and generous roof spaces. A solid share carry ducted systems from the 2000s that are reaching the swap years, and the rest is first installs and the odd studio split.

About Us

Air Conditioning in Glenhaven

After air conditioning in Glenhaven? Jay's Air has been doing it since 1991. The typical Glenhaven 4-5 bedder wants 14 to 16kW of zoned ducted at $9,000 to $12,500 installed, with the smaller singles landing around $8,000 to $11,000 for 12.5kW. A split for a studio or teen retreat is $1,800 to $3,000. Fault-finding is $250 plus GST, fix quoted first. 4.8 stars from 280+ reviews.

The 2000s systems are the story here, same as much of the Hills: good gear that's done 15-plus summers and is starting to cost money. The honest line is the $600 rule - past that on an old system, the money belongs in a modern inverter that will cool the same house for noticeably less power.

High ceilings change the sizing maths

Glenhaven's living areas run tall - voids, raked ceilings, double-height entries - and they hold more air than the floor plan suggests. Sizing on square metres alone undercooks these homes. We size on volume and glass, zone the voids sensibly, and the system holds the house without running flat out.

Replacements reuse sound duct runs, which keeps the swap efficient. Size yours properly with the sizing calculator and check the pricing guide before anyone quotes.

Ducted Air Conditioning in Glenhaven

The ducted air conditioning Glenhaven runs on is big and zoned: 14 to 16kW across two storeys, sleeping zones separate from the living core, voids handled properly. Mick has run our Hills installs since 2009 and Glenhaven's executive homes are his standard week. New installs and 2000s replacements both land at $9,000 to $12,500 fixed, with lifetime workmanship warranty and the duct runs reused where they're sound.

Why Glenhaven Calls Jay's

Because the Hills has been our installer patch for decades and the work shows it - clean penetrations, balanced airflow, zoning that matches how the family lives, and a fixed quote that doesn't move.

Mick Daly runs the installs and has since 2009. Noah Hall handles the splits. Ben does quotes and diagnostics, and for air conditioning repairs Glenhaven's bigger systems get instrument-led diagnosis rather than parts-swapping guesswork.

Credentials: in business since 1991, 4.8 stars from 280+ reviews, NSW licence 273312C, ARCtick AU13058, $20M public liability. We install Panasonic, Daikin and Actron and repair every brand.

16kW replacement in a two-storey executive home

Problem

5-bedroom two-storey with a 2004 ducted system - upstairs never quite right, bills climbing, and the third repair quote in two years on the table.

Diagnosis

Mick fitted a 16kW Daikin with 6 zones and a dedicated void zone, reusing the sound trunk lines. Two and a half days, $12,300 fixed, lifetime workmanship warranty, and upstairs finally matches downstairs.

Split for a backyard studio office

Problem

Architect-style studio at the back of a Glenhaven block, all glass and skillion roof, unusable from November.

Diagnosis

Noah fitted a 3.5kW Panasonic sized for the glass, head mounted clear of the skillion line, condensate plumbed away properly. Half a day, $2,300 fixed.

Zone damper stuck on a 2008 system

Problem

Ducted system with one zone permanently cold and another getting nothing - owners assumed the system was dying.

Diagnosis

Ben traced it to a seized zone damper motor in the roof. Replaced the damper motor and tested every zone through the controller. $330 and the system has years left.

FAQs

Air Conditioning Glenhaven - Common Questions

FAQs

The typical Glenhaven 4-5 bedder runs $9,000 to $12,500 for 14 to 16kW zoned. Smaller single-storeys land around $8,000 to $11,000. Replacements reusing sound ducts come in at the friendlier end. Fixed quote first.

Heat rises into the sleeping zones and voids pull cool air down to the living areas. The fix is zoning designed for it – separate upstairs zones with enough airflow allocated. On existing systems it’s often a rebalance, not a replacement.

Zone dampers, sensors and capacitors, yes – those are $150 to $500 fixes. A compressor or major refrigerant failure past 15 years, the money belongs in a new inverter. We quote both ways and tell you straight.

Air Conditioning Advice for Glenhaven Homeowners

Plan the 2000s system swap before it plans itself. The Hills installed heavily in that decade and the replacements are rolling through now - booking in spring beats competing for January install slots after a failure.

And give the upstairs its own zones with real airflow. Two-storey comfort lives or dies on that one design decision, and it costs little to get right at install time.
