Covering Dural and the Hills acreage belt.
Acreage homes with serious floor space - 14 to 16kW zoned systems are the standard job here.

Dural is big-home country and the air con jobs match. Long single-storeys and sprawling two-storeys on acreage, high ceilings, wings that get used at different times, and roof spaces with room to do ducted properly. The systems here are serious installs - long runs, multiple zones, two return airs - and they reward a crew that plans rather than squeezes.

About Us

Air Conditioning in Dural

After air conditioning in Dural? Jay's Air has been doing it since 1991. The typical Dural acreage home wants 14 to 16kW of zoned ducted at $9,000 to $12,500 installed. Bigger or two-storey places sometimes run two systems rather than one stretched thin - we quote whichever the house actually needs. A split for a studio or pool house is $1,800 to $3,000. Fault-finding is $250 plus GST. 4.8 stars from 280+ reviews.

Zoning is everything on these floor plans. A wing-based zone layout means the bedrooms, the living areas and the guest end run on their own schedules - comfort where you are, no power burned where you aren't. On a 300-square-metre home, good zoning saves more per quarter than most people guess.

Long duct runs are a craft, not a problem

Acreage homes mean long runs, and long runs done lazily lose airflow at the far rooms - the classic cold-hallway-warm-bedroom complaint. We size the trunk lines properly, balance the system at commissioning, and the far end of the house gets the same air as the middle. It's the difference between a system that's big and one that works.

The sheds, studios and pool houses get splits or a multi-head, sized for glass and use. Run the main house through the sizing calculator and check the pricing guide - then we'll walk the place and firm it up.

Dural anchors our Hills acreage run with Castle Hill, Pennant Hills and Glenhaven.

Ducted Air Conditioning in Dural

The ducted air conditioning Dural orders is the biggest residential work we do: 14 to 16kW systems, 6-plus zones, long runs balanced properly, $9,000 to $12,500 on a fixed quote. Mick has run our installs since 2009 and the acreage jobs are his favourites - room to work and a result you can feel in every wing. Replacements reuse sound trunk lines where they exist. lifetime workmanship warranty on the lot.

Why Dural Calls Jay's

Because big systems punish shortcuts, and we don't take them. Trunk lines sized right, zones laid out around how the family lives, commissioning done with instruments rather than vibes.

Mick Daly runs the installs and has since 2009. Noah Hall handles the splits for studios and pool houses. Ben does quotes and diagnostics himself, and for air conditioning repairs Dural's bigger systems get proper diagnosis - on gear this size, guessing is expensive.

16kW zoned system in a ranch-style acreage home

Problem

Long 1980s single-storey on five acres, no cooling beyond two old splits, far bedrooms unusable in summer.

Diagnosis

Mick fitted a 16kW Panasonic with 6 zones and two return airs, trunk lines sized for the length of the place and balanced at commissioning. Three days, $12,400 fixed, lifetime workmanship warranty.

Pool house split before Christmas

Problem

Glass-walled pool house booked to host the extended family Christmas, cooking by 10am every morning.

Diagnosis

Noah fitted a 5kW Panasonic sized for the glass load, condensate run plumbed away cleanly. Half a day, $2,850 fixed, Christmas saved.

Far rooms warm on a big ducted system

Problem

Acreage home where the master wing never matched the rest of the house - previous installer's long runs were starving the far outlets.

Diagnosis

Ben measured the airflows, found the trunk line undersized past the second branch. Rebalanced the dampers and upsized one section of duct. $640 of rework instead of the new system another outfit had quoted.

FAQs

Air Conditioning Dural - Common Questions

FAQs

Most acreage homes want 14 to 16kW with 5 or 6 zones, running $9,000 to $12,500 installed. Very large or two-storey places sometimes do better with two systems – we quote what the house needs, fixed, after walking it.

Long duct runs that were never sized or balanced properly – the far outlets get starved. Often fixable with rebalancing and a section of upsized duct rather than a new system. We measure before recommending anything.

Yes – a split sized for the glass and use runs $1,800 to $3,000 installed, or a multi-head covers several outbuildings off one outdoor unit. Cheaper than extending the house ducted in almost every case.

Air Conditioning Advice for Dural Homeowners

Two smaller systems sometimes beat one giant on the really big homes - independent wings, redundancy if one faults, and often better efficiency. It's worth pricing both ways, and we do.

Outbuildings deserve their own cooling rather than ducted extensions - a split in the studio costs less, zones itself by definition, and doesn't load the main system. Multi-heads tidy up multiple outbuildings off one condenser.
