Covering Cherrybrook and the Hills District.
Cherrybrook's big brick homes are ducted country, and most of ours is replacing the original system.

Cherrybrook is big full-brick homes on leafy bushland blocks, and almost every one runs ducted. The bulk went in from the late 70s through the 2000s, so a lot are now twenty to thirty years old and ready to be replaced. The deep roof cavities up here make ducted easy to work with. We've done the Hills since 1991 with our own crew.

Deep Roof Cavities and Big Floor Plans in Cherrybrook

Cherrybrook homes are built for ducted. The deep roof cavities give us room to run proper ductwork and the big floor plans mean a single well-zoned system does the whole house far better than a string of splits. That's why ducted has always been the standard up here, and why a good replacement is straightforward, the ducting's usually fine, so it's mostly new units and a controller.

We run Panasonic, Daikin and Actron and tell you straight which suits. Mick runs our Hills installs, on the tools since 2009.

Have a look at our sizing calculator and pricing guide. We also cover West Pennant Hills, Castle Hill and Pennant Hills, and for repairs see our ducted repairs page. Our main Cherrybrook page covers everything we do locally.

Ducted Replacements in Cherrybrook Brick Homes

Replacing the original ducted system is most of our Cherrybrook work. A twenty-five-year-old Carrier or Actron isn't worth chasing repairs on once the compressor goes, and a modern inverter cools the big floor plans far better for a lot less running cost. Because the ductwork in these deep roof cavities is nearly always sound, a ducted air conditioning replacement in Cherrybrook is mostly new units and a controller, often done in a day.

Ducted Air Conditioning Cherrybrook - Common Questions

FAQs

A standard four-bedroom Cherrybrook home runs about $9,500 to $12,000 for a fully installed zoned system. A big five or six bedroom home wants 16kW to 18kW and lands around $12,000 to $15,000. Most of our work here is replacements, quoted fixed off your floor plan.

The big brick homes here have deep roof cavities and large floor plans, which suit ducted perfectly. One well-zoned system does the whole house far better and quieter than a handful of splits, which is why nearly every home up here runs ducted.

If it’s twenty-plus years and the compressor or board has gone, replace it. A modern inverter cools the big floor plans better and costs far less to run, and since the ductwork usually stays, it’s cheaper than you’d think. We’ll give you the honest call.

Ducted Advice for Cherrybrook Residents

Don't assume a replacement means redoing all the ductwork. In these deep roof cavities the ducting is nearly always sound, so it's mostly new units and a controller. We'll tell you exactly what's worth keeping.

Size to the floor plan, not bigger. An oversized system short-cycles and wears out early. For most Cherrybrook homes the right size is 14kW to 18kW.
