Covering Colyton and the St Marys corridor.
Hard-working homes, hard-working systems, and repairs priced like we want to be invited back.

Colyton is fibro-and-brick territory off our St Marys run, and the work here is the honest kind: splits that have done ten summers without a service, window units overdue for retirement, and the occasional older ducted system deciding enough is enough on a 42 degree day. We quote first, fix what makes sense, and leave the upsell at home.

30+ Years

The stock is 1950s to 70s fibro and brick veneer on solid blocks, with newer infill and granny flats appearing through the back streets. Splits are the workhorse here, with corridor heat testing every one of them from November on.

About Us

Air Conditioning in Colyton

After air conditioning in Colyton? Jay's Air Conditioning has been doing it since 1991. A 2.5kW split for a bedroom runs $1,800 to $2,100 installed, a 5kW living room unit $2,500 to $3,000, and whole-house ducted lands at $7,000 to $11,000 for most homes here. Fault-finding is $250 plus GST, fix quoted before we start. 4.8 stars from 290+ reviews.

The repair-or-replace rule we run everywhere applies double out here: under $600 on a system under 15 years, fix it. Past both, the money belongs in new gear - especially with corridor summers working everything harder.

Lightweight homes reward well-placed splits

Fibro and weatherboard shed heat fast once the sun drops, so a properly sized and placed split cools these homes quicker than the floor area suggests. The flip side: the afternoon heat load through light walls is real, so living areas here often want 5kW where double brick gets by on less. Placement and sizing beat brand every time.

Granny flat going in the backyard? A dedicated split at $1,800 to $2,100 sorts it - rough in the pipe run during the build and save the retrofit cost. Numbers first: the sizing calculator and the pricing guide.

Air Conditioning Repairs in Colyton

The air conditioning repairs Colyton calls about run to a pattern: capacitors cooked on extreme days ($150 to $180), splits low on gas after years of slow leaks ($200 to $350 once fixed), blocked drains dripping inside ($120 to $150) and fan motors announcing retirement ($300 to $500). Most fixed same visit, quoted first, 12 months on parts. Ben does the diagnostics.

Why Colyton Calls Jay's

Because the quote is the price, and the advice is what we'd do in our own place. Thirty-plus years of western Sydney summers will teach you that the straight answer wins.

Mick Daly runs the ducted work and has since 2009. Noah Hall does the splits, and split system installation Colyton bedrooms and granny flats order is steady work for him. Ben handles quotes and diagnostics himself.

Split blowing warm in a fibro three-bedder

Problem

Living room split running flat out and barely cooling, power bill up $180 on the quarter, owners braced for a replacement pitch.

Diagnosis

Gauges said the gas was fine - the coil was filthy and filters packed. Chemical clean and service, $270, and it pulled the room down like new. No replacement needed, and we said so.

Granny flat split with the build

Problem

New granny flat going up in a Colyton backyard, owners wanted cooling sorted before the in-laws moved in.

Old ducted out, new Actron in

Problem

Brick veneer with a 2001 ducted system - second compressor scare in two summers and R22 gas nobody sensible would keep buying.

Diagnosis

Mick fitted a 10kW Actron inverter with 4 zones, reusing the duct runs. Two days, $8,800 fixed, lifetime workmanship warranty.

Air Conditioning Advice for Colyton Homeowners

Still running window units? The swap to splits halves the noise and the power draw, and it's a half-day job per room. Best comfort-per-dollar upgrade these homes can get.

Building a flat out back? Rough in the split's pipe run and circuit during the build - small line item then, wall-chasing exercise later.

Jay’s Air also provides air conditioning installation and repairs in nearby Penrith.
