About Us

Air Conditioning in Sylvania

After air conditioning in Sylvania? Jay's has been sorting it since 1991. A split runs about $2,500 and ducted for a brick home sits around $9,500 to $12,000. Close to the Georges River the salt air takes its toll, so we set systems up to handle it. 4.8 stars from 280+ reviews.

Sylvania is a comfortable Shire suburb with a practical mix of older brick homes and some newer townhouse development near the Princes Highway. Most of the residential streets here are 1960s to 1970s brick veneer - solid homes with decent roof cavities that suit ducted air conditioning well. The older systems in a lot of these homes are now hitting 25 to 30 years and starting to underperform.

Air Conditioning in Established Sylvania Homes

A 12kW ducted system handles a typical 3 to 4-bedroom Sylvania brick home with zones. For the homes that already have ducted but have old ductwork and a failing compressor, a full replacement makes more sense than patching individual components. For townhouses near the Princes Highway and units near the Southgate strip, split systems or a 2-head multi-split are the right call. Our sizing guide helps narrow down the right option for your home.

Air conditioning repairs sylvania are a regular part of our Shire work. Common faults we fix here include ageing zone motors in ducted systems, capacitor and fan bearing failures on older splits, and refrigerant leaks at flare connections. For homes close to the Georges River, salt-air corrosion can accelerate coil and contact wear - we check for this when we service or inspect. Split system installation sylvania comes through too, particularly for newer townhouses and for homeowners adding a split to a room the ducted system does not cover.

We cover Sylvania as part of our Sutherland Shire area. Nearby suburbs we also service include Como, Jannali, and Kirrawee. For typical costs, see our pricing guide.

Ducted Air Conditioning in Sylvania

Ducted air conditioning suits most of the established brick homes in Sylvania well. A 12kW to 14kW system with 4 or 5 zones covers a 3 to 4-bedroom home and lets you control each area independently. If your existing ducted system is more than 20 years old and repairs are getting frequent, a full replacement is usually the smarter investment. Air conditioning repairs sylvania also includes a lot of ducted zone motor work - zone damper motors on 20-year-old systems are a common call-out here. Split system installation sylvania handles rooms the ducted does not reach and new townhouse installs.

Why Sylvania Calls Jay's

We have been doing air conditioning work in the Sutherland Shire since 1991. Sylvania is a suburb we know well - the brick homes here are solid and the ducted work is a regular part of our Shire run.

For ducted replacements in Sylvania we typically use Panasonic, Daikin, or Actron systems and carry the parts for the most common jobs on the van. Fixed prices before we start. For split installs - single room or whole-townhouse multi-head - same approach. Most jobs are done in a day.

FAQs

Air Conditioning Sylvania - Common Questions

FAQs

A full ducted replacement in a Sylvania brick home typically runs $9,000 to $11,000 for a 12kW to 14kW system with 4 to 5 zones. New ductwork is usually included in the replacement quote. For a split system in a townhouse bedroom, expect around $2,100 to $2,600 installed. Call (02) 9820 4500 for a firm quote.

If it is over three decades old and you are seeing recurring zone faults, reduced cooling capacity, or high energy bills, replacement is usually the right call. Patching an old system adds up quickly and does not fix the underlying efficiency problem. A new system comes with a 12-month installation warranty.

Yes – homes close to the Georges River in Sylvania can see accelerated corrosion on outdoor unit coils and electrical contacts. Annual servicing helps catch this early. For new installs close to the water, we recommend coastal-rated units with coated coils that handle salt air better.

Air Conditioning Advice for Sylvania Homeowners

If your Sylvania home is close to the Georges River, it is worth asking about coastal-rated outdoor units when you are replacing or installing. Salt-air corrosion accelerates coil wear and can shorten the life of a standard unit by 5 or more years. Coated coils add a small cost upfront and significantly extend the outdoor unit life in waterfront areas.

For all other Sylvania homes, a standard inverter ducted or split system from Panasonic or Daikin will perform well. The pricing guide gives realistic costs for both types.
