Ducted replacements in older brick homes, split installs, and repairs on every brand across Riverwood.

Riverwood sits on the Bankstown and East Hills lines, a quiet St George suburb of mainly post-war brick veneer homes. We do a lot of ducted system replacements here - the Carrier and Actron systems from the 90s are hitting the end of their life. Split installs near the station and repairs on aging units make up the rest of the work.

Older Brick Homes in Riverwood - Replace or Repair?

Most homes in Riverwood went up in the 1950s and 60s. Solid brick three-bedders on 550-700sqm blocks. The roof cavities on these are usually big enough for a ducted run. If your system is over three decades old and starting to let you down, replacing the whole thing usually works out cheaper than patching it. A 10-12kW Panasonic 4-zone ducted for a typical Riverwood home runs $9,000-11,000 all in.

For units near Riverwood station or granny flats out the back, a 3.5-5kW split is the smarter option. For split system installation Riverwood units and townhouses, expect $2,200-2,800 for a quality Daikin or Panasonic.

Air Conditioning Advice for Riverwood Homeowners

Most Riverwood homes are 3-bedroom brick veneer from the 1950s to 60s. These suit a 10-12kW ducted system well. If the roof cavity is accessible and the existing ductwork is in good shape, you can often save by reusing it rather than replacing everything.

For units or granny flats, go with a split. A 3.5-5kW unit handles most living areas. If you want to cool more than one room, a multi-head system keeps things neat. We scope it and quote it before any work starts. Call (02) 9820 4500.
