Covering Blakehurst and the St George area.
Blakehurst's big riverside homes are ducted territory, and we do plenty of replacements here.

Blakehurst sits on the Georges River, so there's a lot of big, well-kept homes here, plenty of them substantial two-storeys with water views. They run ducted, and a fair few are now on systems from the 90s and 2000s that are ready to be replaced. We've worked St George since 1991 with our own crew, and the river air means the outdoor units want decent gear and a bit of care.

Blakehurst

Blakehurst is substantial homes on good blocks, a mix of established 1960s-80s brick and larger modern rebuilds, many two-storey and some right on the Georges River. Big floor plans, good roof space, and a generation of ducted now in replacement territory, with salt-tinged river air on the waterfront streets.

Replacing Ducted in a Big Blakehurst Home

Most of the bigger Blakehurst homes are on a 90s or 2000s ducted system that's now ready to be replaced. On a house this size the system works hard, so they're usually due around now. A modern inverter cools the big floor plans far better and runs cheaper, and the ductwork normally stays so it's mostly new units and a controller. On the waterfront streets we fit decent gear and site the outdoor unit to handle the salt air.

We run Panasonic, Daikin and Actron and service every brand. Mick handles the bigger jobs, on the tools since 2009.

Check our sizing calculator and pricing guide. We also cover Oatley, Connells Point and Carss Park, and for repairs see our ducted repairs page. Our main Blakehurst page covers all our local services.

Ducted Replacements in Blakehurst

Replacing the ageing system in a big Blakehurst home is most of our work here. On these larger riverside homes the ducted works hard, so a 90s or 2000s system is usually ready by now. A modern inverter cools better and runs cheaper, and since the ductwork stays, a ducted air conditioning replacement in Blakehurst is mostly new units and a controller. On the waterfront we use gear that stands up to the salt air.

FAQs

Ducted Air Conditioning Blakehurst - Common Questions

FAQs

A standard four-bedroom home runs about $10,000 to $12,500 for a fully installed zoned system, and a big two-storey near the water wants 16kW to 18kW and lands $13,000 to $16,000. We size and quote off your floor plan.

On the waterfront streets, yes. Salt air corrodes outdoor units faster, so we fit decent corrosion-resistant gear, site the unit well, and recommend a yearly clean. Done right it lasts as long as anywhere else.

If it’s twenty-plus years and the compressor or board’s gone, replace it. On a big home a modern inverter cools better and runs far cheaper, and the ductwork usually stays so it’s cheaper than a full re-do. We’ll give you the honest call.

Ducted Advice for Blakehurst Residents

A yearly clean matters more near the river. Salt and grime choke an outdoor unit faster here, so keeping it clear keeps it efficient and lasting.

On a replacement the ducting usually stays, so it's mostly new units and a controller. Size to the floor plan, not bigger, usually 14kW to 18kW for a big Blakehurst home.
