Covering Ashcroft and the south-west Sydney area.
Most calls in Ashcroft are repairs on older split systems and first-time split installs.

Ashcroft is a south-west suburb next to Miller and Sadleir with a high proportion of 1960s and 1970s fibro homes. These homes typically have very low-pitch roofs that rule out ducted air conditioning entirely - splits are the only practical option. We do a lot of repairs on early-2000s split systems here and a steady stream of first-time installs for homes that have never had cooling.

Ashcroft is a tight-knit south-west suburb sitting next to Miller and Sadleir. Most homes here are fibro or brick from the 1960s and 1970s, and summer gets genuinely hot. A lot of these homes still have no air conditioning at all - or an old unit that gave up years ago.

Older Fibro Homes in Ashcroft and Cooling Options

For fibro homes in Ashcroft, split systems are the answer. The roof cavities are too shallow and low-pitched for ducted ductwork. A 5kW split in the living area handles most lounge rooms here and a 2.5kW is enough for a bedroom. Some older homes in the area still have R22 systems - these cannot be legally recharged under current regulations so replacement is the only option when they lose gas. Our sizing guide helps figure out the right system for your home.

Air conditioning repairs ashcroft are a regular part of our south-west schedule. The most common jobs are capacitor faults, fan bearing failure, blocked drain lines, and refrigerant leaks on 15 to 20-year-old units. Split system installation ashcroft is our other main call - first-time installs in homes that have never had cooling, often replacing decades-old window box units.

FAQs

Air Conditioning Ashcroft - Common Questions

FAQs

A single split system in an Ashcroft home typically costs $2,100 to $2,600 installed. Two splits for living room and bedroom run $3,700 to $4,400. For a brick home that suits ducted, a 10kW system with 3 zones is around $8,400 to $9,500. Call (02) 9820 4500 for a quote.

No – R22 refrigerant is no longer available for purchase in Australia. If your system runs on R22, recharging it is not legally possible. The options are either a full system replacement or an expensive compressor and coil conversion which is rarely cost-effective. We will let you know what refrigerant your unit uses when we inspect.

Most fibro homes in Ashcroft have too low a roof pitch for standard ducted ductwork. Split systems are the practical solution for those homes. For brick homes with adequate roof depth, a small ducted system is possible. We check on site before quoting.

Air Conditioning Advice for Ashcroft Homeowners

In Ashcroft, the key things to check before buying a system are: the home construction type (fibro vs brick), the roof cavity depth and pitch, and the age of any existing unit. Fibro homes need splits. Very old systems using R22 need replacing, not regassing.

For new split installs, modern inverter systems from Panasonic and Daikin are quiet, efficient, and have low running costs. A well-sized unit will last 15 or more years with regular servicing. The pricing guide gives realistic install costs for each system type.
