About Us

Air Conditioning in Ryde

After air conditioning in Ryde? Jay's Air has been doing it since 1991. For a typical 3-bedroom brick home, expect roughly $2,500 to $3,000 for a 5kW split or $8,500 to $10,500 for a ducted system. We carry out split system installation Ryde-wide, and ducted replacements every week.

How much does ducted air conditioning cost in Ryde? For a standard 3-4 bedroom brick home in the established streets, a new Panasonic or Daikin ducted system runs $8,500 to $11,000 installed. That covers the indoor unit, all ductwork, zoning, and an outdoor unit sized for the home. The older full-brick construction holds temperature well, so a properly sized system works hard all year. We size for the actual floor area and ceiling type - not just the bedroom count. Use our sizing calculator for a starting figure.

Splits and Multi-Head for Ryde Apartments

The apartment blocks near Top Ryde and around the Ryde shopping precinct are split system or multi-head territory. Strata usually requires pre-approval for the outdoor unit position. We know the common strata requirements in this area and can advise on compliant bracket mounting options. A 2.5kW Daikin or Panasonic covers a one-bedroom apartment well. For a 2-3 bedroom unit you are looking at a 3.5 to 5kW unit, or a 2-head multi-split to cover two rooms from one outdoor unit - typically $6,500 to $8,500 fitted.

Air conditioning repairs in Ryde are steady year-round. The 1990s and early-2000s Carrier, Actron, and Mitsubishi systems are now hitting 20-25 years old. Fan motor failures, capacitor faults, refrigerant leaks, and blocked drains are the common calls. We carry parts for major brands, so most repairs get done on the first visit. We serve Ryde, Eastwood, Meadowbank, Ermington, and surrounding areas. Call (02) 9820 4500.

Air Conditioning Repairs Ryde

Air conditioning repairs in Ryde keep our team busy through the warmer months. Ryde has a lot of systems from the late 1990s and early 2000s - Carrier, Actron, Mitsubishi, and early Daikin - that are now hitting the age where things start to go. Fan motor failures, capacitor faults, refrigerant leaks, and PCB issues are the most common calls. We carry spare parts for the major brands so most repair jobs get done on the same visit. If you are not sure whether to repair or replace, we give you a straight answer based on the system age and cost of the fix - no upselling, no pressure.

Ducted Replacement - Ryde Brick Home

Problem

A 3-bedroom 1970s brick veneer home in Ryde had a 1998 Carrier ducted system that had been repaired twice in three years. The owner wanted a quote to replace the whole setup.

Diagnosis

Ben inspected and found the compressor drawing high current and the ductwork starting to delaminate at the joins. We replaced the full system with a 12kW Panasonic 4-zone ducted unit with new ductwork throughout. Total cost: $9,800. Running more evenly and quieter than the old system from day one.

Split System Install - Top Ryde Apartment

Problem

A new owner in a 2-bedroom apartment near Top Ryde had strata approval for a wall-mounted outdoor bracket but had not acted on it. They wanted two rooms covered.

Diagnosis

Noah fitted a 3.5kW Daikin Lite to the main living area and a 2.5kW Daikin to the master bedroom. Outdoor unit on the pre-approved bracket, refrigerant lines run inside cable duct. Both rooms done in one day. Total cost: $4,800.

Actron Fan Motor Repair - Ryde

Problem

A 2006 Actron ducted system stopped cooling on a hot January day. The indoor unit was running but no air was coming through any of the vents.

Diagnosis

Ben found the indoor fan motor had seized - a common fault on Actron systems this age. Replaced the motor and capacitor on the same visit and cleaned the filters while there. Total cost: $430. Compressor was healthy so the owner chose to keep the system running.

Air Conditioning Advice for Ryde Homeowners

Older Ryde homes can run ducted air conditioning well. The full-brick construction holds temperature and reduces load on the system. The key question is roof cavity depth - if there is clearance for ductwork, ducted gives you whole-house cooling with proper zoning. Visit our sizing calculator to see what system capacity suits your floor area.

For units and townhouses, a quality split or multi-head install is the right call. We recommend Panasonic and Daikin for reliability in Sydney conditions. Get current install costs at our pricing guide.
