About Us

Air Conditioning in Huntingwood

Huntingwood sits in the Blacktown LGA in Western Sydney, just off the M7 motorway. It’s a mixed suburb — residential streets running alongside light industrial zones — and the climate here is classic western Sydney: summers that push well into the high 30s through January and February, with cold winters and very little coastal relief.

A lot of the housing stock here wasn’t designed with full air conditioning in mind. Older brick homes, fibro cottages, and even some of the newer double-storey builds on smaller blocks all need a considered approach to getting the system sizing right. An undersized unit will run constantly and never get the room to temperature; an oversized one short-cycles and drives up your power bill.

Jay’s Air has been servicing homes across the Blacktown area for years. We know the local housing stock and we know what systems hold up long-term in this climate.

What System Suits a Huntingwood Home?

The right system depends on the size and layout of the home. For a standard 3-bedroom brick house, a reverse-cycle split system in the main living area handles most of the cooling load — typically a 3.5kW unit for an average-sized room, or 5–7kW for a large open-plan kitchen and living space. Adding a second unit in the master bedroom usually covers the rest.

We install Panasonic as our primary brand for most residential work — it consistently rates well on energy efficiency and reliability, and the parts support is strong. We also install Daikin and Actron Air depending on the application and budget.

For double-storey homes, or anywhere you want independent room-by-room control without running separate outdoor units, a multi-head split system is usually the smarter play. One outdoor unit powers multiple indoor units — you choose which rooms to cool and which to leave off. Ducted is the premium option: it sits in the ceiling, cools or heats every room in the house, and runs off a single controller. We can quote all three and walk you through the trade-offs for your specific property.

Why Huntingwood Homeowners Choose Jay's Air

We’ve been working in Western Sydney for years and our technicians know the area well. All installation and repair work is carried out by our own licensed, insured staff — we don’t use subcontractors on residential jobs. That means the same people who assess and quote your job are the ones turning up to do the work, and they’re accountable for it from start to finish.

Our quoting covers everything with a fixed price: the unit, all installation work, the electrical connection, and a full test run before we pack up and leave. There are no hourly rate surprises and no hidden call-out or travel charges for the Huntingwood area.

We stock Panasonic, Daikin and Actron Air systems and carry common units, so most jobs can be booked within a week of accepting a quote. If we’re doing a repair, we’ll diagnose it on the first visit and give you a straight answer on whether it’s worth fixing or whether a replacement makes more sense for your situation.

Split system install, 3-bed brick home

Problem

Family near Holbeche Road had a 15-year-old window unit in the lounge that couldn’t cope. Kids’ bedrooms were unbearable by mid-afternoon. They wanted a proper fix before the next summer.

Diagnosis

Installed a 3.5kW Daikin split in the living room and 2.5kW units in both kids’ bedrooms. Three systems, one visit. Cost: $4,200 installed.

Ducted system not reaching upstairs

Problem

Homeowner had a ducted system that cooled the ground floor fine but left the upstairs bedrooms warm every summer. A previous company had looked twice and couldn’t diagnose it.

Diagnosis

Three duct dampers stuck closed in the upstairs zone, plus a heavily blocked evaporator coil that hadn’t been serviced in four years. Freed the dampers and cleaned the coil — system balanced across both floors from that point on. Cost: $280.

Unit tripping the breaker on hot days

Problem

Customer’s split system kept tripping the circuit breaker only on 38°C+ days — worked fine in mild weather. Another company had inspected it twice with no result.

Diagnosis

Failing capacitor on the compressor — only shows a fault under heavy load. Replaced the capacitor and ran a full load test. No trips since. Cost: $290.
