Run through these before you book anyone. They're free, and they sort a surprising number of calls.
- Mode and temp. Cool, not Fan or Dry, set below room temperature
- Remote batteries. Flat batteries fool plenty of people
- The isolator next to the outdoor unit and the breaker in the switchboard. Both on
- Filters. If you can't see light through them, wash them and let them dry
- Restart it at the isolator. Off, five minutes, on again
